Our session with Shane & Becky was a special one because it was our third time shooting this amazing pair. We shot their engagement session and wedding in San Diego a couple of years ago and love being able to document the lives of our couples beyond the wedding. We were so excited to get together with them again, only this time they had a new addition to their family! The new little one is of course visible in this session, but at the same time concealed. We can’t wait to meet her in person–she’s due to arrive in just a couple of days! We hope you enjoy some of our favorites from this super fun shoot with two (+1) of our favorite subjects. Chicago is such a great city, and one thing that makes it great is its architecture. In true Chicago style, Deena and Matt chose one of the most iconic buildings in the city (even in the country) for the site of their ceremony and reception — The Willis Tower. It was at one point in time the tallest building on earth, and is still one of the very tallest. We were blown away by the amazing views and the sheer scale of the building as we took part in the wedding on the 66th, 67th and 103rd floors. Despite the epic scale of the building, the wedding venue itself was more intimate and perfectly suited for the small group of family and friends that gathered to celebrate Deena & Matt and their commitment to each other. We loved being a part of this beautiful day and had so much fun capturing all the warmth and excitement that emanated from every detail of this celebration. We hope you enjoy a few of our favorite moments from their day! We spent a recent weekend up in the Bay Area shooting a beautiful wedding (which we’ll be sharing with you soon) and we were thrilled to also have a chance to meet up with Terence & Cheryl for their engagement session. We love San Francisco, it’s one of our favorite cities, and we especially love shooting there. As we drove through The Presidio on our way to meet Terence & Cheryl we could already see that we were going to get a quintessentially San Francisco day–foggy, windy, and drizzly. We ran with it, Terence & Cheryl were completely unfazed, and the truly San Francisco aesthetic ended up being a really great backdrop for their shoot. We had so much fun with these two braving the wind and getting a little wet and muddy together. They are totally awesome and we can’t wait to shoot their wedding in San Francisco this Fall! We love what we do so much, and we find so much enjoyment in being able to share our work and our vision with you here on our blog. With that said, being able to be with Monica & Rusty and all their friends and family on this beautiful wedding day was such a pleasure. There was so much beauty in this wedding and the honest emotion and joy that everyone shared so openly throughout the day was so much fun to capture. Thank you so much to Monica & Rusty for inviting us into this special celebration! When we get to work with couples that just seem like such a good fit for each other it really makes us happy! Heather & Nick share such a great sense of humor and also the fun, relaxed, and comfortable way they relate to each other really set the tone for this day. From their meaningful, and at times playful ceremony to the gathering, sharing, and celebrating of all their friends and family at the reception–this was an awesome day and we had so much fun being a part of it.
