Kelsey & Denis are a very special couple, and their beautiful rustic farm wedding was such a wonderful representation of their personalities, humor, generous spirits, and love of having fun. These two met in Uganda, where Denis is from, while Kelsey was studying abroad there. They both lived not too far from Lake Victoria and shared an amazing story with us about how all the fisherman in the area gather out on the lake at night and light candles to attract the fish. This creates a whole horizon of beautiful, shimmering lights, which they tell us is a sight to behold. Needless to say we can’t wait to visit. . . and to maybe snap a few frames of this phenomenon on our cameras!
Also, since the flight from Uganda is so expensive, and because it takes almost two whole days to get here, only Denis’s father could make the trip. Even though the rest of his family wasn’t able to be there in person, his father was able to reach them via cell phone during Kelsey & Dennis’s vows, which was such an amazing thing. We were moved by the amount of love and celebration that was present in this day, and we had so much fun with our new friends! We hope you enjoy these moments from this very special day. Congrats you two, and enjoy!!
Pasadena is such an incredible part of LA. It has such a wonderful mix of both the old and the new, as well as the perfect balance between the city and the beautiful natural features of the mountains and hills that surround it. This is why we were so excited when Katie & Chris suggested that we meet them at one of their frequent hiking spots down along the Arroyo Seco trail. As you’ll see below, this space provides such an interesting intersection of natural space and architecture, and we were in photog heaven getting to take it all in through our lenses.
On top of all of this, Katie & Chris are just totally incredible people. We clicked with them immediately, and Chris and I (Derren) spent almost the entire time talking about music, trumpet playing (we’re both classically trained players), and about Chris’s amazing music and composition projects (which you can find out more about here). They were so much fun to explore with! When we asked them to ford the Arroyo with us to explore the other side they didn’t think twice, and were so cool about getting dusty and dirty along the way. We honestly cannot wait for their intimate farm wedding in Northern California later this month. You guys are awesome! Enjoy!
We’ve been really busy this summer with lots of traveling for weddings. This weekend was the first we’ve had off in a while, and we were able to take a short, but much needed mini-vacation. More about that later, but in the mean time we’re excited to take the opportunity to share an awesome wedding we were fortunate to be a part of at the absolutely beautiful Edg-Clif Farms (and vineyard). Stephen & Alison are so much our kind of people–they’re relaxed, laugh a lot, love to travel, and put an awesome personal touch on everything that they do. On top of that, they are also photographers and shoot weddings together (and they’re now a husband & wife team!). We’re always so excited to be able to shoot other creatives, especially when they’re a couple that is so much fun to be around and who really poured out their love for each other, their friends, and their family on this beautiful day. We had so much fun, and we can’t say a big enough congratulations to you guys, Stephen & Allison! Enjoy!
Alix & Dion are a very special pair, and we were moved by the sincerity and transparency of everything that happened on this beautiful day. They also allowed us to be present to capture one of the sweetest first looks we’ve ever experienced. They poured out love and joy into every moment of this day, and we couldn’t have asked for two nicer people as new friends! Thanks so much for including us you two, and congratulations again. Enjoy!
We were so excited to be able to spend the afternoon with Catelin and Sam in our own backyard. Only a few miles down the road from us are a plethora of beautiful little lakes, tucked away in and around the vast Shawnee National Forest. Catelin and Sam, who love to ride bikes together, decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and bring down their super cool tandem bicycle. It added such a fun personal element to the shoot, and we had so much fun hanging out with them and running after them on their bike. We’re so excited for their bed & breakfast wedding here in Southern Illinois this Fall! Enjoy!
