Emily and John are seriously two of the sweetest people, and we felt so fortunate to be able to spend this entire day with them. Rain in the morning yielded to the sun in the afternoon, and everything about this day turned out just about as great as it could have. The whole day was such a wonderful celebration, and we had so much fun being a part of it! We hope you enjoy peeking in on these moments from their day.

So, this past weekend was my (Derren’s) birthday, and we had the privilege of being able to celebrate it with my family in Kansas City. Lisa made the most amazing chocolate layer cake I have ever seen (and eventually inhaled), and we decorated my parents house with all sorts of fun home-made decorations. After having dinner at one of our favorite KC dinner spots we headed back to the house for games, dessert, and lots of fun with the photo booth that we set up in my parents’ living room. It was an amazing way to celebrate one more year of life, and I feel fortunate to have such an amazing wife and loving family. We are blessed! Here are a few fun moments from our weekend. The best way we can describe this day is that it was absolutely beautiful and wonderfully personal. The setting was stunning, and certainly equal to that was the amount of personality, creativity, and love for family and friends that Geoffrey and Magdelena poured into this day. One thing we love about the Hindu wedding ceremony is that it is truly a celebration, and we were so honored to be a part of this very special and meaningful day. We are so honored and excited to have Melany & Eddy’s elegant Chicago wedding featured on Style Me Pretty today! Melany & Eddy are awesome and we had so much fun with them at their wedding. We have another engagement session to share with you today, and we’re really excited about this one. Steph & Jordan suggested we all return to one of their old and favorite hiking areas for our session (which happens to be in our neck of the woods, literally). Ok, so we were excited about this for a couple of reasons. First, we’ve been hiking in this area quite a lot, and we love all of the unique rock formations, nooks and crannies–so as a location it is awesome. Second, we love getting outside and enjoying natural spaces. So, on the day of the shoot we met Steph & Jordan (and their dog Bailey) at the base of the trail, and we all went for a hike. Yes we may have slid off a few rocks, gotten smacked with a few tree limbs, and endured a few scrapes while wading through bushes, but it was worth it. We had so much fun shooting and hiking, hiking and shooting, and we’re so excited to share the results with you below. Thanks so much for the awesome afternoon Steph & Jordan.
