We traveled to Kansas City recently for a family shoot with an awesome family of four (look out for the post soon!). It was a warm afternoon, and during the shoot they suggested that we take a quick stop by a really unique local snow cone stand, called Fresher Than Fresh Snow Cones, for some photos and some cool relief from the late summer heat.
When we got there, we were blown away. Not only was it located in a rad vintage trailer, but the owner, Lindsay Laricks, hand-makes all of her treats from fresh, organic ingredients. You can immediately taste the quality and uniqueness of her creations, which she assembles in some very unusual flavors–we relished every bite, and swig, of ours in between shots.
The Fresher Than Fresh trailer traverses the Kansas City area to share its frozen treats during the week, and splits its time most weekends between the space in front of Hammerpress Stationers in the Cross Roads on Fridays (during First Fridays) and the community garden at 17th & Summit on Sunday afternoons. Here are a few shots of her wonderful stand–do yourself a favor and stop on by if you’re in the area!!
